Technical Seminar: Route to become a Professional Building Engineer (Part 2)

(Jointly organized by HKIE Building Division and HKIE Young Members Committee)

Date: 29 July, 2025 (Tuesday)

Time: 06:30 pm to 08:00 pm (Registration start at 6:15pm)

Mode: Hybrid Mode (60 participants for Physical Participation and 500 participants for Online Participation via Zoom)

Speakers:

Ir Philip Kwok Chi Tak (Professional Assessor)

BEng(Hons), Msc (Civil & Structural), MHKIE, R.S.E. , Registered Inspector(BD), Class 1 R.S.E (PRC)

He is experienced in structural, building and project management platforms. He had worked for the government, consultants, contractor and NGO. He is also an experienced professor and served HKIE as a professional assessor for over 20 years. 

Programme Highlight 

Following the Part 1 seminar, this seminar is aimed to help the members to understand the requirements for professional interview of Building Discipline, including the 12 HKIE competence requirements. The speaker, Ir Philip Kwok, who is the Building Discipline professional review assessor, will share some tips for topic selection in ones’ project with concrete examples.  

This seminar will introduce to Building Division members:

 – Routes to HKIE Corporate Membership

 – Requirements of Professional Assessment (Building) & 12 HKIE Competences

 – Topic Selection for the report & interview

  • The seminar is free of charge.
  • Limited to 60 participants for Physical Participation and 500 participants for Online Participation (via Zoom)

  • Confirmation notice and Zoom link will be shared with successful registrants at least 7 days before the date of the event.
  • An electronic CPD certificate will be issued to the attendees who joined the physical session or online with over 80% attendance one month after the seminar or webinar.
